Lysia Carrier founded AvecunAccent in 2008, a firm that is the accomplishment of 10 years of experience in the field of interior design for architecture and design firms in both Europe and Canada. Her project designs have been used all over the world. Lysia Carrier is an active certified member of the Association professionnelle des designers d’intérieur du Québec (APDIQ) and of Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).

With a background in visual arts, communications, interior design, interior architecture, and perceptual psychology, she wanted to sharpen her understanding of the impact of spaces on people. This has enabled her to excel in what she calls “spatial logistics,” aimed at making the layout more efficient through architectural simplicity.

From a more poetic point of view, it is an approach based essentially on a coherent blend of techniques and creativity, reasoning and intuition, wisdom and whimsy. It is the birth of a symphony of characters, silences and artifice; a balance between inhabited and uninhabited; empty spaces.
